About Me

I'm a Senior at the University of Colorado in Denver and near the completion of my Bachelor’s in Environmental Sciences. My ultimate career goal is to gain my Master’s in Environmental Engineering and contribute to innovative solutions through technology concerning issues of sustainable development, natural resource management, equity and most importantly positive social impact.

My Interests

I mostly align with opportunities that allow me to be creative, hands on and imaginative.I am open to internship and career opportunities in:
• Sustainable Innovation
• Sustainable Building Design
• International Relations
• Water sterilization and efficiency
• Project Management

A Look At My Current Venture

I'm currently a project manager and product owner leading a team with the mission of delivering a digital solution to financial hindrances in a developing country in the Caribbean. This project has been ongoing with different phases since May 2021.The work involves in depth user research using quantitative and qualitative methods. We also use softwares like Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Miro, Notion and Google Workspace. The main deliverables so far have been IRB approved surveys, research papers, presentations at the undergraduate symposium and even an app prototype.

Relevant Past Projects

My past projects have ranged from environmental engineering to risk assessment to business analytics.

Environmental Engineering Intern - Uganda, Africa Summer 2018

I lead a multidisciplinary team of architects, scientists and geographers to work towards a cost effective and sustainable solution to the water sterilization issues faced from the consumption of contaminated water from the Lake Bunyonyi.* Received IIE Study Abroad Grant
( $2,500) to pay for travel and research expenses. Of the 5 applicants from the UCCS campus, and state (Colorado), I was the only recipient that year.
o Sustainable methods to naturally clean water without dependence on chemical use on Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale, Uganda.o With the problem of cholera and malaria, the urgency to build awareness of water sterilization methods through proper filtration, and distillation were endorsed.o The outcomes were greater water sterilization efforts in the Kabale District of Uganda, and the production of a testable prototype (water distillation system) for the Bunyonyi All Age School that sourced from the Lake Bunyonyi.

Public Trust & Safety Intern - Colorado Springs, CO. Fall 2020

I was responsible for data-driven decision making around a complex community scale issue.o The COVID-19 pandemic reinforced the necessity to understand dynamics among health and safety institutions and the people they serve.* Mechanisms to build trust – There was a focus on mechanisms to build trust between black and brown communities and the police and health institutions within the state of Colorado.o This was and remained an important issue because of social issues like police brutality, and mistrust in public health due to historic misconduct in these fields.o With the interview of persons in higher positions in the police force and medical departments, it was understood that initiating the first step to building trust would mean fighting “history” and how things have "always been done”. There was frustration in this realization, but this insight meant a lot to this first step.
